Jawatan Kosong DBKU - Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Utara - Kuching was conferred a city status on 1st August 1988, making it the second Malaysian’s city after Kuala Lumpur. Due to its vastness the city was divided into two administrative areas: namely north and south. The City of Kuching North Commission or Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Utara (DBKU), in Malay, administrates the northern part and the Councils of Kuching South or Majlis Bandaraya Kuching Selatan (MBKS) the southern part.At its establishment, DBKU started with only eight personnel on its payroll in August 1988. DBKU now (2008) has 1,007 personnel under its employment comprises; 35 full time professionals and administrative staff, 696 support staff and 276 daily paid workers.

Requiremnents:

• a) Citizens of Malaysia;
• b) Not less than 18 years on the closing date of the position;
• c) (i) Bachelor's degree recognized by the government of the institutions of higher learning: or
• (ii) Bachelor's degree recognized by the government honors from institutions of higher learning or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto. (Starting salary at Grade N41: P1T3) or
• (iii) Bachelor of Law is recognized by the government of the institutions of higher learning or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto. (Starting salary at Grade N41: P1T4) and
• d) Credit in Bahasa Malaysia / Malay (including pass Oral Examination) in the Certificate of Education or equivalent qualification recognized by the Government.

Qualified Malaysian citizens (priority to the state population) who are 18 years and above are invited to fill vacancies on a regular basis in Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Utara (DBKU), Sarawak as follow :

1. Tukang K2

Requirements:

(a) Citizens of Malaysia;

(b) Not less than 18 years on the closing date of the position;

(c) (i) Completion of Form 3 secondary school full government assistance, or

(ii) Workers in Public Low Employee services, Special Public Primary Workers, Drivers of Motor Vehicles, Plant Operators and Drivers / Operators Machinery loaders that have been confirmed in service;

(d) (i) Has the Malaysian Skills Certificate Level Intermediate / Malaysian Skills Certificate Level 2 in the relevant trades or equivalent qualifications recognized by the government, or

(ii) Pass Test Skills in various trades in question (whether with or without standard SDS) conducted or certified by the head of service as equivalent to Intermediate Level specimen Malaysia Skills / Malaysian Skills Certificate Level 2;

and (e) Ability to speak, read and write dalamBahasa Malaysia satisfactorily.
